MAPL - Manufacturing Automated Planning Lab - develops academic research through the application of Artificial Intelligence tools for manufacturing automation and production planning. The Laboratory is coordinated by Prof. José Jean-Paul Zanlucchi de Souza Tavares, Its active members are professors Roberto Mendes Finzi Neto and professor Arthur Fiocchi.

MAPL has already developed more than 20 Course Completion Work, 15 unpaid internships, 10 Scientific Initiations with and without a Scholarship, 7 Masters and 3 Doctorates, 2 software with and without registration and 1 industrial design registration, serving more than 50 students since its foundation in 2013. Several scientific articles were developed, highlighting that it has a culture of encouraging undergraduate students to publish in international journals.

MAPL also has initiatives in teaching, developing didactic solutions for FEMEC disciplines, courses, among others. Likewise, MAPL is ahead of the Improvement of FEMEC Maker Laboratory as an extension project, developing 3d printers, mobile robots and CNC's following the "Do it yourself" approach.
